Helen Ludwig is receiving HOJ’s Young at Heart Award on April 21 at Celebrate!GOOD.
Helen Ludwig At 89 years young, Helen serves as an inspiration for healthy aging. A former member of Jacksonville’s Council on Elderly Affairs, she helped confront critical issues facing First Coast seniors – transportation, health care, housing and education. She is an active advisory council member of the Retired Senior’s Volunteer Program and helped co-found the Senior Life Foundation, an organization that provides low-income seniors with emergency funds and assistance.
Helen is the co-founder and former Executive Director of Women Elected to Municipal Government in Florida and a director for the Jacksonville League of Women Voters. She has helped educate citizens on how to influence public policy.
Helen is vice-chair of the Jacksonville Ethics Commission. As an advisement board member for the Mayor’s Special Events Council, her opinions are highly regarded by city government on many important issues affecting our community.
During her community leadership, she has given more than 3,000 hours of her life to advocating for the wellness of others. Her selfless acts, caring heart and enthusiasm will continue inspiring the Jacksonville community to affect a positive change.
