Tony Allegretti – Bringing Art, Culture and Beauty to Our City

When it comes to Jacksonville’s downtown revitalization, there is, perhaps, no one more revered than Tony Allegretti.  He is a leading advocate with a consistent mission to improve the quality of life in downtown Jacksonville.  As with most people whose careers are driven by their passion, Tony has volunteered countless hours that far surpass his “job” to improving our community.

He may be best known for his role in founding the First Wednesday Art Walk, Jacksonville in 2003.  More than ten million dollars in economic development can be attributed to the Art Walk.

He was also a founding director of Riverside Arts Market and co-director for Jax Parks…Get Out There, an extremely successful promotion of Jacksonville’s public parks.

Tony also founded the Electro Lounge, one of the nation’s leading public radio international music shows, by obtaining corporate and private funding.  He is a renowned public speaker on urban life and development as well as marketing and public relations initiatives.

Tony has many nonprofit affiliations.  Significant to downtown revitalization is involvement with JCCI.  His current volunteering endeavors include Mayor Brown’s Mentorship program.

For his many efforts to bring art, culture and beauty to our city, HandsOn Jacksonville is pleased to present The Art of Caring Award to Tony Allegretti at Celebrate!GOOD, April 19th.  Learn more and get tickets at handsonjacksonville.org/celebrate.
