When Jennifer Connell came to volunteer at The SELF Movement, Inc., an organization with the goal of creating new synergies between businesses and nonprofits, the organization was described by its founder, Bill Bade as “a well-funded start up with an idea, but no clear implementation plan.”
Jennifer was the catalyst to establishing The SELF Movement’s community impact during its first fragile year. She helped implement the Learn! Earn! Give! program which provided 28 local high school students with an opportunity to earn up to $500 in college scholarships in 2010.
Additionally, she worked aggressively to build new partnerships and attended workshops and seminars on the organization’s behalf to ensure its use of industry best practices. She also managed a variety of nonprofit partnerships, created marketing materials and hosted leadership seminars.
Her volunteer leadership during the organization’s critical start-up period helped ensure its success and secured local corporate grants that could have otherwise gone to other parts of the country. To learn more about The Self Movement, please visit theselfmovement.org.
Jennifer will be receiving our HandsOn Community Award at Celebrate!GOOD on April 19th! We hope you’ll join us!
