Jeannie Gallina – Bringing Healing and Hope Through The Way Free Clinic

Jeannie Gallina founded The Way Free Medical Clinic  in 2005 to provide medical services to the uninsured of Clay County. The Way provides primary care, obstetrical and vision care with full examinations, lab testing, diagnostic imaging, and specialty care free of charge to the residents of Clay County.

With the help of Orange Park Medical Center, the clinic delivers on average 5 babies per month and provides $1.3 million in medical care through pro-bono work and highly discounted services. In Clay County, where more than 22% of the population are uninsured, The Way Free Clinic offers hope.

Jeannie, with no experience in the medical field, spends more than 50 hours every week to recruit the more than 120 volunteers necessary to operate the various clinics and prepare for future growth.  Her dedicated service touches the lives of thousands of people who have come to depend on The Way.  For her dedication to bringing health care to individuals in need, Jeannie Gallina was presented with the HandsOn Health Award at this year’s Celebrate!GOOD.
