Youth Leader, Christy Soares- Demonstrating the True Meaning of Volunteering

“Through volunteering, I would like to change the way the world works. I would like to show the world that compassion and personal relationships mean more than a paycheck.”

Christy Soares is a recent graduate of Stanton College Preparatory High School and the 2011-2012 Youth Leadership Council. Among other accomplishments, she was the captain of Stanton’s varsity soccer team, a member of the Science, Spanish, and English National Honor Society, and an active member of YoungLife.

Christy was even more involved when it came to volunteering! She participated in the Youth Leadership Council HandsOn for Hope: Family Fun Fest, was the co-founder of the St. Pious Society, a leader of the OneJax Metrotown Institute, and many more volunteer organizations.

Christy said she would like to change the lives of as many people as possible and so far HandsOn Jacksonville couldn’t be prouder of the work she has done. We look forward to seeing what Christy will accomplish in college and beyond!
