“Volunteering has been one of my greatest passions since I’ve moved to the United States, a place where volunteerism is greatly valued and widespread and where all volunteers share the enthusiasm and passion to help others in their communities selflessly. . . Through volunteering, I wish to bring happiness to this world as well as to inspire others to volunteer and make a difference”
Tuongvan Le, a member of the 2011-2012 Youth Leadership Council, attends Stanton College Preparatory High School. Le has been active for many years volunteering as a coach and tutor for Math and English throughout the community. She is also a member of the Science Honor Society, the Future Business Leaders of America, and the president of the service club, CAS.

For Global Youth Service Day, Le organized a whole weekend of tutoring that engaged more than 40 tutors and students. She is also an active volunteer for HabiJax and volunteers with HandsOn Jacksonville doing service projects like beach clean ups, Cards for Caring and has volunteered for a car wash to help raise money for the youth council.

HandsOn Jacksonville looks forward to seeing what meaningful volunteer events Le comes up with as she participates on the 2012-2013 Youth Leadership Council.
