Fighting Tigers – Committed to Serving Their Country and Community

130221-N-ZA795-024The Fighting Tigers of Patrol Squadron EIGHT (VP-8) consists of over 350 officers and sailors stationed at NAS Jacksonville. These active-duty service members selflessly volunteer their time and talents in pursuit of a greater good for the Jacksonville community.

The squadron has established enduring partnerships with local organizations including the Sulzbacher Center, Habijax, and multiple schools in the area.

247980_10151196641806865_1391790779_nWith an overwhelming majority of command members joining the Navy after September 11, the Fighting Tigers are committed to serving their country and community. Even while on deployment in support of operation Enduring Freedom, the Fighting Tigers kept Jacksonville in their hearts as they ran an 8K to raise funds to support programs at the Sulzbacher Center. When the Fighting Tigers returned to Jacksonville, they continued their support by volunteering with children’s programs and in the kitchen at the Sulzbacher Center.

Despite frequent deployments, the Fighting Tigers of VP-8 continue to be committed to making Jacksonville a better place for all.

For their dedication to volunteering, both at home and abroad, The Fighting Tigers VP8 will be receiving the HandsOn Service in Uniform at Celebrate!GOOD on April 18th.
