Position at HOJ: Military Engagement Manager through AmeriCorps
What is the scariest thing you have ever done?
Holding my son for the first time and reflecting about the significance of just what was entrusted to me as a father.
Who is your hero, and why?
Nathan Bruckenthal and Michael Pernaselli…they gave the ultimate sacrifice and left a proud legacy to their children.
What is your philosophy on life?
The most important things in life are the things we cannot see. I cannot remember who made the comment to provide proper credit… However, as I navigate through life and come in contact with various people… I am constantly reminded of that simple fact… The most important things in my life have not visible to my naked eye.
What is your all time favorite joke?
A preacher was providing his rather large congregation an update concering the progress of the multi-million dollar building project for a state of the art childrens education and learning resource center that would surely make a positive impact on the lives of many children in the community… The preacher commented that he had good news and bad news… He stated that the good news was that there was more than enough money to fund the entire project… This comment was met with much enthusiasm and rejoicing… After things settled down a bit… The preacher stated that the bad news was that “You all have yet to give it.”
What did you want to be growing up?
A pianist that moved the emotions of people…
What inspires you to work at HOJ?
To be quite candid… I am still figuring that out… However, something internal moved me to seek work with an organization that provides an avenue(s) and resources to significantly and positively impact and influence the lives of others… To be in a position to come in contact with hidden heroes… maybe that opportunity was just to great to pass up… Again, still figuring things out…
